Dr Martins is an accomplished scholar with decades of experience in teaching and research. He has a strong background in Education, Leadership, Development Communication, and Community Service.
He joined the Polytechnic as Rector upon his appointment by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr Hycinth Alia, PhD in April 2024 with the mandate of repositioning the institution as a leader in providing cutting-edge technical education that caters for changing industrial skills.
From 2008 to 2024, Martins was a lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Zaria where he demonstrated an incredible capacity and pioneered many initiatives that revolutionized teaching, learning and innovation that would later propel academic excellence. In between this, he was appointed Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigeria Shippers Council, from 2021 to 2023.
